I named my site 'Lorraines' Treasures', because that's what
it is,Family, Friends, and places I have been, that's helped me a lot, to motivate, and help me set up my Website.
This is something I never dreamt I could do, but with the help of others, I was able to have
the courage and motivation to try.
I wanted a place to put family pictures, so I could share it with my family, and my
friends, and what a better place than a Website.
There were many that helped me along the way, to show me there was more I could do with my computer than just
play Computer games, or surfing the Net. This is just a few, out of all the people, that's helped me learn what the
computer was all about, and I still have so much more to learn. It's hard for me to comprehend
how things work, I have to have hands on, I can't read what to do, because I forget what
I've read, unless I'm doing them both at the sametime. There isn't enough words, to thank everyone
that has helped me to learn to move on.
Mark from the UK (HD462)....Mark was the first. I met Mark on a Forum for a graphis program 'PhotoSuite'. He has help a lot of members
learn about the program. He's helped me, and tried to explain to me, how the program worked, and believe me
I needed a lot of help. As time went on, I did get better, and he said, if I wanted to,
I could help with some of the questions the members had, and he was right, I didn't know a lot,
but what I did know, was of some help to others. If there was a question I didn't know, I tried to look it up.
That was when I got a little braver, and started moving around more in the program, and on the computer.
JT (Jtrupt) from SAF....When I got my new Windows XP computer, I wanted to get cable, and go wirless. so I
went on the SAF Forum, and ask if it was possible for me to do it myself, JT, among others, came
to to my aid, and said I could do it, and if I wanted to try, they would help me. It took me a while, with the mistakes
I was making, and having a hard time comprehending what I needed to do, but JT stayed with me,
and got me through it.
The same with my 98 computer, when I was ready to hook it up
wirless, JT was there, to get me through that too. and others had also helped. JT said I
never gave up. I guess what it takes is patients, and I have a lot of that, and the
wellingness to try. I must say, JT and others got me thinking, and it gave me the courage to try
other things.
Jim (JimO) from Windows Help....Jim gave me the opportunity to be a Moderator on his Forum, even though I didn't know
anything about computers. I have my own little Forum now, and being a Moderator has helped a lot to
understand how the Forum workes.
Gary (GFN)....Gary doesn't realize it, but he has also helped me, just being there as a friend,
and if I needed anything, all I have to do is ask. Even with my lack of knowledge, he has a way
of making me feel, that I was better then I thought I was, and I could do more than I thought I
could. Yes Gary, you have inspired me a lot, and I'll never for get it.
Tom (TomO)....I can't thank Tom enough, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Tom. Oh! I
might have had a website up in a year or two, but it would'nt have been as nice as the one I have now.
Tom has helped me set up my own website, along with my own username, and FTP, and not only
that, my own Forum. (Lorraine's Place) How lucky I was, when Tom put an HTML Practice Site, on his
own WebSite, for anyone who wanted to learn how to make there own WebSite from scratch using HTML, so you
can set it up the way you would like it to be. The only program I have on my WebSite, is for the SlideShow.
There's three more, I would like to thank..DavidE, Gail, and Réjean....
David sent me a beautiful Picture, I wanted to print it out, and frame it, then I thought, Boy! wouldn't
that be perfect for my Home Page. I tried it, and I just love it. That was the start of my Home Page.
Gail, I met on my Forum, She came there to help out anyway she could, and she sure helped me out,
she's a great asset to the Forum. Gail has her own WebSite, and she has these beautiful buttons
to click on, to go from one place to another. Gail said, If I wanted to learn how to make buttons like the ones she has,
for my WebSite, she would help me, and she did. They were made in PSP (Paint Shop Pro). That's another Program
that takes time to learn, so I was very busy for a while.
Réjean had a Font on his site, that I liked very much, and would go perfect with the picture I have on my Home Page,
and said I was welcome to use it.
I'm very proud of myself, for what I have accomplished so far, and for all the friends I have met. There is more work
that needs to be done. The WebSite is still under construction, and as I find the time, I'll keep working on it.
NOTE: --- Sometime this Summer, I'll be changing the link buttons, so it will be easer for visitors to read. The buttons were one of the hardest things I made, and when I had it set up the way it is now, I was just too anxious to see what it was going to look like, and if it was going to work. I had plans on changing it later. If you hover the mouse button over a button, it will
give you the description of that button. I'll be changing the rollover color, that's the second button you see when you hover over the top button, and I'll also be changing the color of the button font for easer reading
